🚨 Reminder: In order to get started with your mentorship, we require that you first complete an application process. If you are approved, we’ll send you the details to book and pay for your mentorship.

Overview

In this mentorship, you will expand your knowledge of how to develop sharp and believable organics in an environment art workflow. You will learn from Ivanna Liittschwager, Senior Environment Artist at Respawn Entertainment with over six years of experience in environment art creation for AAA games. This mentorship has the high quality bar that large scale video game production teams use today. We will begin by taking a look at what you’d like to improve upon in your mentorship, your project ideas, and your overall goals and vision for your final piece. From there, we’ll iron out the roadmap for how to turn it all into a polished portfolio piece.

Each session, you will receive constructive feedback on your progress, hands-on demonstrations and other support tailored to your learning style. Your mentor will guide you through the creative process to achieve your vision for your final piece, grounded by realistic expectations and tangible goals. This will involve gathering references, asset breakdowns, modularity of organics, sculpting tips and tricks, and more catering to your specific needs. This mentorship focuses on the sculpting aspect of environment creation for games, but can also provide insight on how to bring sculpts into a real-time game engine if that is what your project needs are.

At the end of your mentorship, you will have a strong knowledge of organic sculpt creation, newly refined sculpting skills, and a professional grade portfolio presentation of your final sculpts. You will also deepen your understanding of how to approach sculpting using AAA best practices, how to break down an environment for games, and how to make the most of assets to inspire realistic world-building.
