Overview
This mentorship will guide you through the full process of gameplay UX design. We’ll focus on strengthening how you approach UX, helping you think critically and explore problems from multiple angles.
Problem-solving and thinking outside the box are at the core of this mentorship. We’ll cover designing across different platforms—including console, keyboard and mouse, mobile, and even VR when relevant. I’ll also guide you on how to collaborate effectively across disciplines and understand the needs of different teams within game development.
Each session includes constructive feedback, practical advice, and support tailored to your individual goals and experience level. I’ll also provide small tasks and challenges to better understand how you approach gameplay UX, allowing us to focus on specific areas for growth. If there are particular areas you’d like to work on or challenges you’re facing, I’m more than happy to tailor sessions to focus on those.
We’ll primarily use Figma during sessions, so a basic understanding is helpful—but not required. If you’re new to Figma, I’m happy to guide you through the fundamentals.
By the end of the mentorship, you’ll feel more confident designing gameplay flows and UI for games, as well as approaching and solving UX challenges. You’ll also gain a clearer understanding of how design approaches shift across different platforms.
